Hipster Fashion Cycle

Credit | Flavorwire.com

I know what hat they’re talking about….. TRUCKER HATS!! lollll jk, but trust me, THEY WILL COME BACK! Be prepared with em Von Dutchers people. Makes me miss my trucker hats actually… Anyhow, I really like this chart, and it’s quite accurate. As mentioned in PSFK, this would be like the compass of companies such as Urban Outfitters lolll but then of course, a lot of hipsters these days would never want to claim out loud that they shop at UO.

But in retrospect, as much as I dislike hipsters, this is equivalent to the adoption curve and can be applied to any fashion trends….not just hipsters. … But I like blaming hipsters for a lot of things because I dislike them. haaa What’s even funnier here are the comments. I love when people argue online…even about a chart. haha

Oh Taylor Lauhtner

Oh Taylor.. as hot as you are or in my case… how people think you are..I just can’t get pass your nose. Oh and look at that fat girl in the picture behind him. lollll “OMG TAYLOR LAUTNER IS IN FRONT OF ME…GASP…*ORGASM*” But seriously, don’t tell me that’s a pretty nose? It looks so weird, short, and big. Maybe that’s why I’ve never thought he was hot or anything because all I saw was his nose in pictures. Eclipse premier? I’ve never really understood the craze about Twilight…somebody help meeee out!

Unthinkable

Just saw this like 15 minutes ago. This movie was very interesting…and makes one think really hard about their values and morals with whatever culture they hold. It was a random pick and I didn’t expect anything. What I really hate most in life are two faced people.  (you’ll understand why when and if you guys see this movie) This movie pretty much made everyone two-faced except for Carrie Moss’s role; even though she drifted away sometimes, she held a pretty consistent stance on her beliefs.

The plot is very simple. It is basically a terrorist being interrogated in cruel ways .. to the point that it’s quite unthinkable. The interesting points revolve around the concept of how far a person would agree and go along for the benefit of … say…1000s of lives within their country. It really shows how much people are in a way.. slimey, and evil for their own benefits. If you had a legit cause, would you kill? Yes apparently … because in order to save 1000s lives, it’s okay to kill say….maybe 5? As long as nobody knows, it should be ok. lol that’s why I never really believe in the justice system .. nothing is very really justice, and there’s no such thing is freedom. lol

This is one of those movies where it pokes fun at the government and its staffs. “Military intelligence…..” “Military intelligence? .. now that’s an oxymoron.” haha this was one of the lines that Samuel Jacksons character said to the colonel in charge. I really love it how most movies make the military appear like pure dumbasses…with ALWAYS a southern accent.  Remember, even if you’re an angel, when the situation arises, you too can be barbaric and an animal. I’ll give this movie *** stars.

Karate Kid

So hot! If I ever have kids, I will so dress them up like that. Look how fashionable Jaden and Willow are. So awesome. Props to Will Smith and Jada Smith for making such beautiful children.

It might be a little creepy being 22 yrs old yet I’m a fan of an 11 yr old boy named Jaden Smith. LOL I really like this little kid, especially from his well-known debut in The Pursuit of Happyness. I think he’s a great child actor and has good potentials. Hopefully he won’t grow up fat, drug addicted, acne-filled faced… but just be very handsome like his father Will Smith… then he’s pretty much good to go. Anyhow, I really wanted to see the Karate Kid 2010 when I heard Jaden would be the lead. But at the same time, I was like hmm a black kid doing kung-fu.. interesting but whatever, the kid is cute.

Comparing this Karate Kid 2010 to the original Karate Kid 1984, I actually enjoyed 2010 more. Not because it is more modern, but I like the action and script/dialogue much better. Obviously for the 1984 one, it’s pretty damn good for its time, but honestly, I’m not a fan of Ralph Machhio. I thought his way of acting was weird and the Karate Ralph did didn’t seem as realistic as the Kung-fu Jaden did. But in retrospect, I enjoyed Pat Morita as the teacher in 84 better than Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan was oddly stiff in this one even though he tried to show a lot of emotions. The part where he was drinking and was in the car (not going to continue, don’t want to spoil..) he really poured his emotions, but as the viewer, I couldn’t feel it. Jaden in this respect was very good. Whenever he got hurt, especially the parts where he got kicked in the leg, or got beat up, you can really indulge in his pain because his facial expressions were so real and strong. There were minor things that could have been nitpick details, like during the tournament when Jaden had his leg hurt, he was holding and pressing onto the wrong leg which I thought was kind of funny. lol

Another aspect I like from the movie is the music choice. I think it’s cute and suitable. The 2010 in comparison seems like a more PG version of the 84. Which is an aspect why I think the movie got a low rating. The 84 one seems a bit more serious, straight to the point, less emotional induced. oh, and it’s not as random. I was watching the online version, so I might have missed important tidbits to why they moved to Beijing from Detroit. lol And I personally think the movie should have been taken place in Japan, for it to be called Karate Kid. Overall I give this movie a *** stars.

The Things I Need in My Life RIGHT NOW

Yup, I need a Blackberry Bold 9700, an affordable Prince Tennis Racket, and Garmin GPS system for my car. The Blackberry and GPS will be for work purposes. (I’ve recently got a new job that requires me to drive 30 minutes to Connecticut) Since I’ll have my car in the East Coast, of course I’ll be taking mini trips and will definitely needing a GPS vs. printing out directions everytime via google maps which is so oldschool/ancient. lol As for the Blackberry Bold, I really want a white one. At least I can have a sense that I’m not becoming the tool of society addicted to the blackberry. I’ve been thinking really hard and carefully – I know I’m in a great need of a efficient phone that has capabilities of email, messaging, maps, browsers and such but damn it! the American phone market is so slim and there are only so many to choose from.

So I thought of the iphone (which I’ve crossed out in my mind.. there is NO WAY I am using an iphone, just no way), Blackberry, Verizon Droids, T-mobile Androids. I’d love to get my hands on an HTC Android but the aesthetically pleasing ones are just out of my range atm. I can’t switch companies to Verizon because I’m on the family plan with my mother, and she’s paying the bills. So that left me at no choice with the Blackberry. I specifically want the Bold though, and not the Curve. If you don’t know me already, aesthetic wise, I hate curves anything. I love sharp geometric figures that can poke you in the eye and make it bleed. lol But seriously, I thought of the moment of me, carrying a blackberry, I would feel so old. I’ve always bought phones JUST for their aesthetics because to me they are an accessory. But now, they are something I need in order to keep efficient communications with and pretty much get through life in the most convenient ways. Personally I think the design of the Blackberry is so ugly, and people who uses the silicone casings on them makes it 10x uglier than how it already is. God… I don’t want to become one, but I might have to soon as I wait for a phone company that can make the almost perfect smart phone. (note, I wouldn’t be in this mental dillema if I were living in Europe or Asia. LOL)

But in the meantime, I think I will just get the Curve because it is ugly, and much cheaper than the Bold. And when I save enough for the Bold, I will sell the Curve on Ebay. As for the racket, since my lovely sister had forgotten to pack my two rackets at home as she went to visit me, I will have to buy one for the summer and hopefully get to play with random people in Astoria park! (14 FREE COURTS BABYYY) But I have to see, rackets are expensive these days …at least for a decent one. sigh. Money money money.

How Does This Even Sound Right?

Recently, Mayor Bloomberg proposed a green initiative to remove 40% of parking spots from 1,800 of the city’s municipal lots and garages to make room for private car-sharing services such as ZipCar. (Full Article)

First of all, Zipcar is a bit of  a scam, and false advertisement. With my personal experiences… I’ve always needed a car for more than 6 hours to run two errands in the City. Yes In the city, due to traffic and crap, it’s almost impossible to rent a car for ..what….4 hours or less? And trust me, I’m a very skilled driver and even I can’t cut down my time by that much. So with this Zipcar thing, even I got pulled in by their BS advertisements of $7/hr (YEAH RIGHT!) Apparently being in NYC, there’s no cars available that is under the $11/hr (weekday) and $13/hr (weekends) mark. Comparing Zipcar to Enterprise for a day’s rent, Enterprise is actually cheaper by 8 – 10 dollars give or take.

Back to the article … I think Bloomberg really doesn’t understand and is trying to pull this green initiative bullshit that will end up screwing people up. Oh, and I doubt he uses ZipCar on an occasional basis, because I’m sure he owns his own car (s?) and has his own parking space. I’ve recently moved to Astoria and really witness how cars and parking spaces are actually very valuable (life lines) for the working class families here. It’s much more important than Manhattan in the sense that everything is much more dispersed and there’s a huge lack of taxis when you need one; to get to one destination is actually much more effort than in Manhattan. If anything, Bloomberg should start in Manhattan because you really don’t need a car in Manhattan.

Maybe I might be understanding it in a different way but the wrong part in this is that thes parking spaces will be handed to this private car rental/sharing enterprise. LOL ok, so getting rid of 40% of the parking spots won’t be for a new park, or some public clinic or school (as examples), but no it’ll get handed to ZipCar, for THEIR cars, so they can make money. LOL it’s not like the people who’s been regularly parking there with their own cars, will give up and trash their cars if the space is given to Zipcar too. They’ll just find somewhere else and it’ll be a smack in the face for the residents. Doesn’t make sense Bloomberg. Not only that, I doubt 75% of the people in Astoria alone can afford to become members with Zipcar to start, let alone renting and actually using it. Of course people will be outraged.

3oh3! – My First Kiss

I like this song. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it makes kissing sound and feel really disgusting. That and…welll I never knew 3OH3! were a dual of two major dorks. For some reason in my head I thought they looked cooler/grungy in a respectful way. Anyways, I just took a shower, but after watching this MV, I feel like taking another one. I wonder if it’s really their intentions to make the MV grody and a little disturbing feeling. I think so though. You can tell by the choices of lips/teeth they chose to be in the MV. If anything , K$sha really fits the vid because by looking at her/her image, it makes me want to go take a shower too because it makes me feel dirty (in an unclean way). But I do like the song though.

Play Me, I’m Yours

http://www.streetpianos.com/nyc2010/

Article from PSFK

“….New York City’s latest offering is a creative experiment to capitalize on individual integrity and talent.” I find this interesting but a bit amusing too. When it comes to things like this, I tend to always play devils advocate. I sure hope these pianos will be chained or booted somehow. lol otherwise, 60 pianos in NYC will gradually disappear one by one. And what about when it rains? I guess it’ll create more jobs for NYC .. lol a worker for the cleaning and covering for the piano … a piano technician … and a piano security/mod? haha Oh NYC, you are something else. I can’t wait to witness some. Too bad Queens and Bronx gets the least amount of Pianos.

Oh, my bad, I read more about it, and there’s a timeline/deadline because it’s an experiment. So They won’t have the pianos around at night? What if I want to play at night? lol
