WHY SHOULD YOU APOLOGIZE!?
Whatever happened to freedom of speech? Or the Koreans hasn’t established it yet? (too lazy to find out) but either way, if it were present or not, Netizens will be all over “wrongdoers” ass.
If you haven’t been following Korean Entertainment News like I do for fun – recently there’s this fun topic to read into. The brother of Epik High’s Star Tablo, Dave has made a big boo boo on his Cyworld. (Which made me question WTF do people post such controversy shit on their Cyworld when they know it’s no good – do it on facebook or Myspace. lol!)
This is the article explaining in detail – but I’ll go over it briefly,
pretty much this TV show from MBC called Infinity Challenge decided to come to NYC to do an ep on how people love Korean food/things or whatever – even from overseas and they go all over NYC even Wall street?! to ask peoples opinions. To me the NYC episode was pretty embarrassing – I’ve numerously seen this show…where it’s set in KOREA and yes it’s very funny – slap stick kind of funny when you don’t have much to do. They do very ridiculous things, and pull ridiculous jokes, which in the Asian mentality it’s very hilarious. But for them to take it here, to NYC is a very very brave thing to do.
But anyways, so Dave, Tablo’s brother expressed his annoyance on his Cyworld how he’s very embarassed and how the Koreans were pretty much a disgrace coming here acting in such ways.

I really agree and love the way how he expressed himself about the issue though. It’s very true and I can relate – because I’m Asian. lol! AND seeing Asians from Asia (fobs) come over to America acting their usual ways and thinks it’s funny, cool, and entertaining is really sad and makes me cringe in a bad way. The most they’ll get is “hey look at those Asians acting silly” Asians! Majority of the time, Asians are just clumped into one big ball of being called Asian and not known to be Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, and so forth…so for them to do that, not only did it gave Koreans a bad rep, it gave Asians a bad rep.
But NOW, there’s been an update, where Koreans had cornered Dave and Tablo, obviously making Dave apologize for his “obscene” freedom of expression.
Why should he apologize? because he was forced to by all means. Why do I care about this during this time? lol! because the main reason why it pisses me off is that he apologized, – I can careless about the other aspects, but he should have stuck to it like a professional man who graduated from Columbia University. I love the Koreans I’ve met, but all he said was pretty much true - true that most Korean students who come to America can’t speak English for shit. I’ve had the luck to witness an International Korean Student in Art History class during my first year trying to bribe the professor to boost her grade in exchange for a nice white gold necklace that she had gotten after her visit trip in Korea – but luckily, the professor rejected. I can’t believe someone had the audacity to do such things and think it is right and EVEN thinking it’ll it work. Lol!
I’ve recently had a conversation with a friend who’s Korean and International but is (one of the few that’s hard working and goes out of her ways to inhale a new culture) – over this and how most International Koreans are very close minded in this very aspect – always sticking with their “crew” speaking their native language, yet when presentations comes, nobody can understand a thing they say. How embarrassing is that? very embarrassing. Wake up Korea. The world doesn’t revolve or cater to you. Please don’t bring everything over to the West- just pick and choose the best will do just fine.
Ps. I think Dave looks better than Tablo. LOL!
